Where For Art Thou Christian Moerlein?

| | Comments (11)

With the release of their new Fifth and Vine Marzen, BuyCincy has been thinking a lot about where to find Christian Moerleing's new brew (and their other tasty offerings for that matter).  So, here's the question: where do you get Chrisitian Moerlein on tap?  I will go ahead and start it out with two painfully obvious choices.

  • Arnold's Bar and Grill - 210 E. 8th St, downtown.  You can't beat drinking in a bar started just 8 years after Christian Moerlein beer's inception in 1853.  ::Arnold's Bar and Grill
  • Kaldi's - 1204 Main St., OTR.  Where else can you choose from great coffee or great beer?  This should be your homebar for the Midpoint Music Festival.
So, let's hear it in the comments.  Where else do you enjoy Cincinnati's finest on tap?

Not on tap, but I was suprised to see OTR Ale for sale in bottles at the Vine Street Krogers. The only other "better" beer they sell is Killians. After that you're choices start at Milwaukee's Best and get worse.

As an FYI, I was at Arthur's at Hyde Park and the had some Mt. Carmel brew, which claimed it was the only locally owned and operated brewery in Cincy. I thought Christian Moerlein was locally owned and operated?

Christian Moerlein was repurchased by a Cincinnati based group but it is still brewed in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. I believe the group has plans to move the entire operation back to Cincinnati.

Barrellhouse would be the only locally owned and operated brewery in cincinnati. Mt. carmel is in, no suprise, mt. carmel. they do have a tasty stout however.

You can get some at Cafe martin on Vine I believe. Not sure if it is on tap or bottles.

I believe you can get it where it launched, at the OTR Ale House on the north side of the market house in Findlay Market. Though they seem to make up their own hours.

OTR Ale House does not make up its own hours. Its only open when they debut a new beer. Hence the 4 days last May for OTR and this August for the Marzen.
I would really like to know where to get it on tap, I'll be there all the time.
