Enjoy Your Weekend - 03/14/08
This weekend is, fittingly, shaping up to be about one thing and one thing only - beer. Whether the blizzard forced you to miss out on last weekend's beer festivities or you are just looking forward to staining your tongue green on Monday, beer will be flowing. Here are this weekend's best activities...
What: Bockfest Blizzard Bash
Where: Local bars throughout OTR and downtown. Some personal favorites include Arnold's, Grammer's, Kaldi's and Below Zero. Bockfest.com has a complete list of participating bars.
When: Friday, March 14.
Cost: No cover - so your only cost is beer and bockwurst.
Last weekends blizzard was especially tough on beer fanatics in Cincinnati. Although some braved the white death to take in the Bockfest activities, many of us didn't have that chance. So, tonight (Friday), many of the Bockfest bars are banding together to give you one more chance to celebrate one of Cincinnati's most unique traditions, the celebration of Spring and bock beer.
What: St. Patrick's Day
Where: Your local Irish pub
When: All day and all night Monday
Cost: Probably a day of sick leave from work on Tuesday
If there is anything better than having St. Patrick's Day on the weekend, it is having it on Monday - giving us an excuse to skip work and have a breakfast of green beer and eggs. There are numerous local pubs that are sure to be rowdy on Monday, including Crowley's in Mt. Adams, Molly Malone's in Pleasant Ridge, and any bar that has an "O' " in its name.
