Best of Taste of Cincinnati
Obviously, we at BuyCincy are a little disappointed that a good deal of the Best of Taste awards at this years Taste of Cincinnati went to businesses not from Greater Cincinnati, inculding the award for Best Damn Dish, which went to an outsider, for the second straight year.
So, we are going to award our own Best of Taste awards. Stick with BuyCincy as we provide information on the Taste, and what we believe are the Best of the Taste of Cincinnati 2008.

I was disappointed, too. What is with the voters at Best of Taste? They prefer corporate-designed food service food developed to appeal to the lowest common denominator of palates instead of EVERYTHING else? Good grief. Who are these people?
Who are these people is a pretty good question. Would another group of people pick the same dish as last year for "Best Damn Dish" or is there a regular group of judges that goes crazy for chain food?
I wouldn't be one to say that chains shouldn't be in Taste of Cincinnati at all, but we shouldn't say that Cincinnati's best food comes from a place you can visit anywhere.

Great cities are great because you know you're there when you're there. What kind of message does it send when the powers that be designate "there" in Cincinnati to be a chain restaurant that is everywhere? Bring on the BuyCincy taste challenge!
