Johnny's Toys (a little Christmas story in July)

In the latest version of "you would never, ever get this at one of the big box stores" we bring you a heart-felt story that admittedly sounds a little like a sappy chain letter, however this is exactly why stores like Johnny's Toys are so important, and the value added benefits out way any slightly less discount prices that you would get at a box chain.

A friend of the site recently relayed a story about one of her fondest memories of Christmas.  At a time in her life when both of her children were young she took her infant child in October to Johnny's Toys in Covington to get her Christmas shopping done early.  She completed all of her shopping and carted her bags along with her daughter out to the car in a rush to pick up her other child at pre-school.  When she got home she hid all of the bags in the garage where her eldest child would not find them and left them there until the Christmas season.

The week of Christmas brought a bad case of the flu to the entire family.  Not feeling much in the Christmas spirit she ventured out to the garage the day before Christmas Eve to gather the Christmas presents together.  When she pulled the bags out and examined the contents she realized that several of the toys that she had purchased were missing, including a very special doll that she had bought her daughter for her first Christmas.  Devistated she called Johnny's and explained to the employee that she had been in the store in October and had purchased these toys, and somehow the toys were now missing.  She then asked if there was any way they still had a similar doll in stock (remember this is the day before Christmas Eve).  The person on the phone simply replied that they had been waiting for her to call.

On that day in October she had accidentally left one of the bags behind in the store.  The workers at Johnny's put her bag aside for her in lay-away and told everyone in the store to watch for her to come back in and get her purchase.  For two months the staff held on to her belongings, with no name, and waited for her to come back and get them.  Kudos to you Johnny's Toys.  Visit www.johnnystoys.com
