This is a week of sorrow for Cincinnati. One of our very best local musicians has lost her battle with cancer.
Katie Reider has been a Cincinnati staple for several years now. She always managed to attract large crowds to her performances, aided by a smooth voice and acoustic guitar. Her charismatic stage personality was not an act. She was a sweet, loving woman who recently suffered great misfortune. Not long after the death of her mother Gayle Reider (from cancer) Katie discovered she had a tumor in her upper left jaw. It spread quickly and she became blind in one eye. Through all of her treatments she remained positive, keeping her fans updated on her progress through the internet. She truly was a treasure and the Cincinnati music scene will not be the same without her. Please take the time today to visit 500kin365.org, where you can purchase nine of her original songs for just $1.00. Proceeds go to her family for hospital and funeral costs.
