Contrary to what
Elvira might have you believe, Coors Light isn't exactly the most inspired adult beverage for your Halloween party (and the Silver Bullet is an especially bad drink choice for those in werewolf costumes). Good thing
Market Wines is carrying Halloween-themed drinks for grape- and hops-lovers alike.
First up on tap, Double Dead Guy Ale from Portland's Rogue Brewery. Here's how Rogue describes it:
Deep amber copper color. Buttery peanut brittle, orange blossom tea aromas follow through tot a rich chewy and fruity full body with nice notes of caramel drizzled dried apricot and roasted grains and spice. Finishes with a long, tangy grilled grapefruit and chocolate fade.
Here's our challenge to Barrelhouse, Mt. Carmel, and other Cincinnati-area brewers: give us a Halloween beer to write about next year.
If you are a fan of Doppelbock-style ales, or just want an event appropriate beer on the 31st, pick up the big red Double Dead Guy bottle.
Double Dead Guy Ale - 750ml bottle: $9.99
Next up, one for the wine lovers. "Dracula Blood" Merlot 2006, is actually produced and bottled in Transylvania at the foot of what is supposed to be Dracula's castle. A bit gimmicky, sure, but the name along makes for a fun party wine (and for what it's worth, Market Wines says that Transylvania is on the same latitude as Tuscany and Bordeaux).
Dracula Blood Merlot 2006: $8.99
Have any good beer/wine/punch additions to the list? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
how about some Great Lakes Nosferatu!
You are so right. We do have some of the Great lakes Nosferatu as well as some other Halloween items.
