Greetings from Findlay Market
Findlay Market Solar Energy Project
On Thursday, October 16th, 2008 a press conference and dedication ceremony took place at Findlay Market to mark the installation of a 114 panel solar energy project, mounted on the roof of the historic market house at Findlay Market. The 21 .66k solar energy project is the largest photovoltaic array in Ohio installed on a building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
This project was made possible by a generous donation from Duke Energy Corporation and a grant from the Ohio Department of Development Advanced Energy Fund to the Corporation of Findlay Market. The installation of the photovoltaic array will provide electricity to the market house. The solar energy array has an expected life of at least 30 years. By replacing electricity generated by coal or natural gas, the Findlay Market solar energy system offests 50,000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year, or more than 750 tons of CO2 during the life of the array.
It also continues the forward-looking commitment of the Corporation for Findlay Market to environmental sustainability and reduction of the carbon footprint in the operation of Ohio's oldest public market.

Meet Our Pumpkin Contest Judges
Jessica Bohne, Kristine Donnelly, and Erin Snape are art education graduate students from the University of Cincinnati's School of DAAP. In addition to being pre-service art teachers, the three are practicing artists with backgrounds in painting, printmaking, and design. As members of UC's National Art Education Association Student Chapter, Bohne, Donnelly, and Snape seek teaching opportunities that allow them to work with the community and the arts.
See you at the Market!

I wish I could take credit for it, but it was submitted by our good friend Cheryl Eagleson at Findlay. Thanks though.
