Cincinnati Unchained: College Hill + Northside Edition
44 stores. 12 neighborhoods. 1 day only.
This Saturday, the biggest local shopping event of the year goes down.
Cincinnati Unchained, our award-winning annual event celebrates its second year of connecting neighborhoods back with their locally-owned businesses. We encourage everyone in the city to stop by their neighborhood shops, restaurants, butcher, bar, dry cleaner and bakery instead of that boring (and no doubt stressful) big box retailer.
This year, 44 stores are joining our effort, enticing you to start your holiday shopping early with deals, gifts, and donations to charity. Here's what to expect from the neighborhoods of College Hill and Northside.
Before we take off into the land of College Hill and Northside, go ahead and take a look at our great list of sponsoring stores, which helped to make this year's event possible. Then, head over and check out all 44 participating stores, sorted by neighborhood, each with their own special specifically for Cincinnati Unchained.
With so many great stores to stop in and a ton of promos to take advantage of, you might need a game plan. Here's one of many possibilities for Saturday.
First, stop in College Hill Coffee Co. on Hamilton Ave. in the morning for a muffin and coffee to start the day on a caffeinated note. Mention Unchained before noon and get a $5 gift card and tote bag for free. While you are at it, stock up on a few pounds of coffee, your fourth 1lb. bag is free. Do some holiday shopping while you are there. Their selection of homegoods, holiday decor and gifts are all 15% off.
For the crafter on your gift list, or for gifts made by hand, check out St. Theresa Textile Trove, just a few blocks away in College Hill. They will be dishing out 15% off all items all day long.
Planning on doing some remodeling this winter? Stop into American Heritage Flooring and receive 20% off any flooring installation of $500 or more.
If you are working up an appetite, Bacall's Cafe, also on Hamilton Ave. has a killer reuben. If you aren't yet hungry, don't sweat it, you can enjoy 1/2 off some of their select appetizers and save room for dinner later (We suggest the Nacho Boat).
Heading down into Hamilton Ave. into Northside, you have a choice of 20% off clothing at NVISION, a funky new store that also carries art and home furnishings, 10% off your shoe purchase at Shoetopia when you mention Unchained, or grabbing a record at Shake-It and having 10% from the profit of your sale going to a help the family of Visionary and Voices artist Antionio Adams, who recently experienced a home fire.
While in Northside, drop off those chain restaurant gift cards you aren't going to use at Melt, and exchange them for gift certificates that feed your stomach delicious Avocado Bliss sandwiches.
Next up....Over-the-Rhine and Downtown.

I went to St. Teresa's Textile Trove, looking for buttons, on your recommendation, and it was amazing!
