Congratulations to Sean and Katy!

So I am a little late on getting this up, but I would like to announce that our very own Sean Fisher proposed to his long-time girlfriend Katy at their downtown apartment this past weekend.

Fortunately for Sean, Katy said yes.

McCabe’s Granola Expands With Three New Flavors

Logo.jpg Granola lovers, rejoice! Local company McCabe’s Granola recently launched three new flavors of its delicious homemade granola – PB & Chocolate, Delta Blueberry and Cran with a Twist.

The new flavors are already in local coffee shops and regional grocery stories, including a couple nationwide.

Owner Kate Desmond calls the move “a huge leap” for McCabe’s. She and co-owner Marie McCabe launched the company in 2006. They met as college roommates, but didn’t realize the potential of Marie’s recipe until she was in grad school at UC. There, she bartered homemade granola for computer repairs, a new bike and even a date.

Video: Rivertown Breakdown 2009

This past Saturday, 15 local bands took over the Southgate House for the annual Rivertown Breakdown – an event to benefit RiverSweep. If you weren’t able to check it out, don’t worry – we were there catching as many acts as we possibly could.

Riversweep, the annual riverbank cleanup of the Ohio River is this Saturday, June 20. Its not too late to volunteer, for more information, contact ORSANCO.

World Food Bar at Findlay Market

We just got the following press release concerning the World Food Bar opening at Findlay Market tomorrow.  It is just another great addition to the Market.  If you haven’t been in a few months, or even a few days, do yourself a favor and head down.

World
Food Bar, a carryout & catering eatery will officially open on Tuesday June
16, 2009, as a new addition to the historic Findlay market located in downtown
Cincinnati’s ‘Over the Rhine’.

The
eatery will specialize in serving ethnic and world foods that converge
techniques which encompass advanced gastronomic and culinary techniques, the
sous vide process and haute cuisine cooking methods of the owner and Chef de
Cuisine of World Food Bar, Joshua Steven Campbell. Campbell plans to spotlight
local and organic ingredients in his daily cooking, most notably those farmers/vendors
who frequent the Findlay marketplace.
