OTR Gateway Quarter Summer Celebration

LogoWebLarge.pngOn Saturday, June 20th, Over-the-Rhine's Gateway Quarter will serve as the backdrop for a unique new Cincinnati street festival. The corner of 12th and Vine will play host to 14 arts and crafts tents, 8 bands, a host of local food vendors, and undoubtedly a generous amount of Christian Moerlein beer. The OTR/Gateway Summer Celebration is an effort to bring some of the area's most creative minds together for a neighborhood block party like none other.

The Oxford-based design/screenprinting studio is perhaps best known for their "Cincinnati Transit Map for Optimists" -t-shirt (shown).  Featuring mens, womens, and childrens tees, Wire & Twine can be found locally at Park+Vine and MiCA 12/v.

The design studio of (BuyCincy contributor) Maya Drozdz and Michael Stout has been busy producing prints, coasters, and tea towels of their adopted city of Cincinnati and neighborhood of Over-the-Rhine. VisuaLingual can be found at MiCA 12/v, Outside, Park+Vine, the Contemporary Arts Center gift shop, and MiCA (O'Bryonville).

InkyWinke1.jpgLebanon-based Erin Beckloff's letterpress studio will feature letterpress cards and picture frames made from old lead type (  which were previously used for letterpress printing).

The Cincinnati studio of artist Rob Meyer will feature paintings, lunch boxes, vintage tins, and Zombiez, "one-of-a-kind, hand painted, completely original action figures."

Clifton-based Drew Steinbrecher draws influence from Mid-Century Modern design. The local studio will feature handmade cards and pillows with a vintage aesthetic.

The studio of Loveland native Beth Porter will show totes, journals, tea towels and prints. Get some of Beth's wares while she's still here, the DAAP Fashion Design senior soon moves to Minneapolis for a position at Target. Her totes and tea towels can be found at MiCA 12/v.
