During the 2009 ArtWorks Summer Program, a group of 12 apprentices, led by artist Tina Westerkamp, created mixed-media, collage and painted works for the guest rooms in the new wing of Cincinnati's Ronald McDonald House. Come see all 103 works of art before they are installed in the guest rooms. -VL

Spring Grove Weekend Walkabout: The Windows of the Memorial Mausoleum
Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Ave., Cincinnati

Take a tour inside one of Spring Grove's most impressive community mausoleums. This magnificent piece of architecture is a classic among American cemeteries and features mosaics, wood carvings, bas reliefs, and 33 magnificent stained and faceted glass windows. Your guide will walk you through this collection of artistic glass, which depicts the theme 'Plants of the Bible,' and explain the imagery of each window. Tours depart from the tent near the main entrance. -QCS

Say good-bye to summer at an old-fashioned ice cream social and concert on the front lawn of the Taft Museum of Art. United Dairy Farmers will serve up free cups of ice cream from the vintage Little Dipper ice-cream truck. Some seating will be available, or you may bring a blanket to spread on the lawn. The foot-tapping tunes will be provided by the Cincinnati Dancing Pigs jug band. -VL
