Cadillac Ranch Acts Like a Big Stupid Chain

September 27, 2009 in Editorial

After hearing one band they were unhappy with, Cadillac Ranch pulled the plug on visiting Midpoint Music Festival bands scheduled to play Saturday night at his venue. After Cleveland’s The Lighthouse and The Whaler finished their low-key 8pm set, Cadillac Ranch had enough and cancelled performances from bands that came to Cincinnati from New York, Louisville, and Nashville, citing lack of profit.

Luckily, the four bands scheduled to play at Cadillac Ranch were able to find other venues, however those who showed up to Cadillac Ranch to see them play were greeted with a DJ. The decision to cancel on bands that had traveled up to 13 hours to play in Cincinnati is not only terribly unethical, and not only shows the city that has supported bar’s profits in a bad light, it may have been a bad business decision.

All of the sudden, Walnut St. seems to be at the heart of Downtown Cincinnati’s revitalization. Between great local spots such as Jeff Ruby’s, Nicholson’s, Bootsy’s, and nada, the Backstage District has been become the go-to place for a night out in the city center.
The latest addition to this Walnut St. district is The Righteous Room, a new lounge that opened in July in an impressively renovated space that used to house the Phoenix Cafe.

What’s the buzz tell me what’s a happening!?!

September 17, 2009 in Uncategorized

Unless you’ve been living under a rock – you probably know what twitter is. According to Wikipedia:

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based
posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author’s profile page
and delivered to the author’s subscribers who are known as followers.

Lots and lots of Cincinnati restaurants have twitter and you should be following them!

Why?

They post specials, events, new menu items and so much more! Some places offer secret word discounts and others post their daily specials. Some even have contests for free stuff!

So where do you go? Well start with me! That’s right – @foodhussy!
