Where to Watch College Football for Cincinnati Unchained

November 12, 2011 in Bars

Cincinnati Unchained is this Saturday, November 19th, and its not Saturday without a healthy dose of college football. The Bearcats, Buckeyes, and Wildcats are in action, and football fans throughout Greater Cincinnati will hit their local watering holes to watch the games.

Luckily, you can celebrate Cincinnati Unchained while enjoying a local beer at some of your favorite neighborhood bars.

Check out our list of participating Unchained bars, all with specials on Hudepohl Amber of Christian Moerlein beers.

Being two University of Cincinnati grads, the BuyCincy team will be rooting on our Bearcats, but whoever you root for, be sure to drink local while you cheer your local team.

Cirque du Yelp Tonight

October 1, 2011 in Events

From Alex at Yelp:

Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls of all ages (as long as those ages
are over 21, of course), come celebrate all things local and Cincinnati
at The Cirque du Yelp, a one-night only spectacular. Be amazed by our
aerial acrobats, zombie caricatures, sword swallowers, stilt walkers,
belly dancers and so much more.
Eat
great food from locally owned restaurants like Bella Luna, Crock of
Love, Dilly Cafe, FBs, Fireside Pizza Wagon, Gliers Goeeta, Grandma
Debbie’s Kitchen, Roxy’s, The Skinny Pig and Taste of Belgium. Be
delighted by locally made sweets from Donna’s Gourmet Cookies, PhroZen,
Sugar Cupcakery, SugarPlums Cupcakery, Sweet Peace Bakery, Sweet Petit
Desserts and Yagoot! And wash it all down with some nice Christian
Moerlein, Kentucky Ale and other great drinks.

Your
eyes won’t believe what they see while watching our great local
entertainment, from the Pickled Brothers Sideshow, to Queen
City Caberet and Zahara’s Tangled Wed belly dancing. Rock out to local
bands Healing Trapeze, SHADOWRPTR and Queen City Crates as our event
event DJs. Gasp at Holly Price’s aerial acrobats and Tom James’ magic,
giggle at John Sebastian and Gorgeous Gore Art’s
caricatures, paint your face with Fabulous Faces by Jen and so much more.

Your fantastic ring master Alex S,
Yelp Community Manager, will take you through the sights and sounds of
the night. Currently, the event is full, but there’s a waitlist started
up and more and more spots open everyday. RSVP here and wait for the magic to happen.

Father’s Day Steak Out

June 13, 2011 in Uncategorized

Remember those summer nights of your youth, your dad slaving over a hot grill to bring you savory steaks, seared to perfection?
Well now you can pay him back. From now until June 16th you can enter DCI’s Father’s Day Steak Out. Just visit
http://www.facebook.com/#!/DowntownCincinnati, like the contest and you could be the winner of a steak dinner at one of the following locations:

  • Morton’s the Steakhouse
  • Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse
  • Boi Na Braza
  • Avril-Bleh Meat Market (for those that prefer to grill out at home!)

There will be one winner for each location and a Grand Prize winner who will win not only a steak dinner at the fore mentioned locations, but also four tickets to see the Reds at GABP on Father’s Day, plus a year’s worth of dry cleaning from Appearance Plus. For a shot at the Grand Prize you must upload a picture of your dad at his grilling best (or worst).

Good Luck

Use your RecycleBank rewards locally

January 25, 2011 in News

Cinci_RecyclingCart.jpg If you are a resident of the City of Cincinnati by now you probably have, or will be soon, receiving your new LARGE recycling bin.  But other than the larger size to hold more recyclables and the less frequent bi-weekly pickups, did you know that you can actually earn points for recycling that you can redeem for discounts at some of your favorite local stores?
