Bars: February 2008 Archives
Lots of excitement this week in and around Over-the-Rhine.
First, Building Cincinnati reports on the recent opening of the Boost! meeting space (pictured above) in Pendleton. The 4600 square foot space promises "flexible space bursting with natural sunlight, hardwood floors, exposed brick, non-traditional and traditional meeting furniture and distinct decor." In other words, not the same old corporate meeting place.
UrbanCincy covers the opening of Lavomatic (featured in BuyCincy here). Of the new Jean-Robert joint, they had to say:
Simply Stunning. My entree and dessert of salmon on a bed of couscous, and crème Brule, were just as spectacular. Also the wine selection was very small, but I was told that they will be expanding it before the weekend. With entrees between 12-24 dollars it is probably the most affordable of Jean Robert's places. I honestly can't wait to go back and sit on the terrace.
We stopped by Wed. night and can't stop saying good things about the it, the atmosphere and food are a great addition to the city's dining scene.
UrbanCincy also mentions tonight's re-opening of Grammer's bar (after many years of abandonment) on the corner of Walnut and Liberty in OTR, a place it terms "a true Cincinnati gem". Want more? Check out our good friend Stepfanie's video report about Grammer's for the Enquirer.
