Cincinnati Unchained is this Saturday, November 19th, and its not Saturday without a healthy dose of college football. The Bearcats, Buckeyes, and Wildcats are in action, and football fans throughout Greater Cincinnati will hit their local watering holes to watch the games.

Luckily, you can celebrate Cincinnati Unchained while enjoying a local beer at some of your favorite neighborhood bars.

Wicked Windows on Winton Rd

But other than the larger size to hold more recyclables and the less frequent bi-weekly pickups, did you know that you can actually earn points for recycling that you can redeem for discounts at some of your favorite local stores?

RecycleBank is a rewards program that motivates people to recycle by measuring the amount of material your community recycles and then converting that activity into RecycleBank Points.

Once you register with RecycleBank, points earned by recycling
will automatically show up in your RecycleBank account. Points can be

Start off New Year’s Eve with Midnight in Munich

Before you hit the bars, parties, and fancy dinners that accompany New Year’s Eve in the US, kick off your holiday at the stroke of midnight in Germany. Starting at 5pm, Mecklenburg Gardens will celebrate Midnight in Munich, a celebration of Cincinnati’s German heritage and a good excuse to start New Year’s right with delicious grub and huge German beers.

From 5pm to 6pm, attendees can munch appetizers, get their fortune told via the German tradition of “lead pouring”, and drink spiced warm wine (Glühwein) or German beer.

As the new year in Munich approaches (6pm our time), Mecklenburg will show a German New Year’s Eve cult favorite, “Dinner for One.”

As the German new year is rung in, nosh on a a German buffet with Oktoberfest Chicken, Suckling Pig, and more, take part in the complementary champagne toast, and check out the huge hand-made pretzel presented by the Mecklenburg chefs.

Admission including buffet is $25. Bring your lederhosen and an empty stomach.

Shrimp Boil at Milton’s

Wednesday night, December 15, there will be a good old fashion’ Shrimp Boil at Milton’s The Prospect Hill Tavern.

Chef Evan Koller will be preparing the feast. Enjoy the company of locals and shrimp lovers alike.

The event runs from 6pm to 8pm and for only $6.00 you get a handful of shrimp, corn on the cob and potatoes.
