Cilantro Vietnamese Bistro: Food for your body and your wallet

Cilantro1.jpgWhen you order at Cilantro Vietnamese Bistro, you may think with a mixture of relief and disappointment that you've managed to snag soup and Vermicelli at one of the only layman-friendly Vietnamese restaurants in the city. Don't dwell on it for too long, though, because you've still got to decide what kind of spices you want; your desired sauces or dressings; what kind of noodles, etc, etc. As you munch later on, you might try to count what other Cincinnati Vietnamese restaurants you had ordered this dish from; we promise you won't need to relinquish your chopsticks hand to add it up.
Darren Phan has been running Cilantro Vietnamese Bistro since he opened it in Clifton Heights four years ago. A native of the area, and former UC student, Darren told us "This area is a nice fit for it, you need the kind of diversity that Clifton Heights has." He went on to add, "It can be hard to be an ethnic restaurant that serves something different from what people are used to. People know Pad-Thai, but not Vermicelli."

You can order in or take your food with you at Cilantro. The menu is diverse and highly customizable, but far from daunting. In a similar vein, the prices are great for college budgets (anywhere from ~$2-$6). The final reason you should check this place out? It's healthy, and vegan friendly.

Try this Clifton Heights secret out for yourself. Just bring an appetite and a desire to defy death and taxes.

Perfect For?
Takeout or warm soup lunches and dinners on a small budget.

I absolutely love this place...one of my favorite places to grab a bite in all of Cincinnati.

Stir Fry bowl, with fried egg noodles and sate sauce. YUMO!
