Have you ever needed a snack break in the middle of a long day of errands and shopping to keep you going? Well, I have the place for you to kick up your feet and quench your snack craving. The place is Yagoot in Rookwood Commons, my favorite place for a healthy dessert, anytime of the day. Yagoot, which is owned by Busken Bakery, opened approximately one year ago and every time I go in there, the lines are longer and longer. The décor is vibrant and modern, they have free wireless, and it is conveniently located less than a mile away from my house. But that is just the environment, we haven't even started on why this frozen yogurt specialty is so good.
I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for....Yagoot!
Yagoot-Oh how I love you, let me count the
ways. One, a small cup (between 5-6
ounces) is only approximately 150-180 calories, which makes a great healthy
snack. Two, toppings include all types
of fresh fruit (not the syrupy canned stuff) but real mango, kiwi,
strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. They also have unique toppings like
mochi (Japanese sticky rice cake), crunchy cereals, and standard toppings like
sprinkles and mini chocolate chips.
Three, it is gluten-free and has
probiotics, which are really good for your digestive system. Four, they have three flavors: original,
coffee, and the seasonal flavor, which is often the best. This month it is strawberry but last month
was pomegranate and I couldn't get enough of that stuff. Five, it just tastes so darn good on a hot
summer day! One minor warning, do not
expect a super sweet type of frozen yogurt, as Yagoot, is really more of a
tangy frozen treat. So remember, when
you are in the Rookwood area and desire a cold, healthy snack, Yagoot may be
the answer for you.

love this place! i'd recommend the original with mango and kiwi, mmmm
i really like it, too. i like how the yogurt is tangy. and fresh fruit on top is yummy.
although, i wish it weren't in a strip mall. it needs to be in some walkable neighborhood where it would get more foot traffic. also, it's weird once you are eating your yogurt and are just sort of standing around next to a parking lot. zero atmosphere.
I've had to explain Yagoot people as "yogurt that's frozen" vs. "frozen yogurt." The mochi is one of the best toppings!
I actually think it's location is great! During the summer they lay out the padded seating area on the stones. It's a great place to relax and catch up with a friend or end a perfect date. Plus I always take my delicious treat with me for a walk around the Commons. Making sure to stop at my two favorite local stores in the area - Bed Bath and Beyond and Whole Paycheck.
I was looking for this the other day. i dont usually post in forums but i wanted to say thank you!
